In celebration of the Summer Olympics authors Courtney Vail and J.L. Campbell are hosting the Around the World Blog Hop!! There are so many great authors, books and locations to discover, as well as prizes to be won, so hop around. If you collect all the various locations featured, you can enter them into the rafflecopter for an extra 25 entry points to win your very own Kindle Fire. And there are only 16 blogs, so it shouldn't be too overwhelming. I am also giving away a $25 Amazon Gift Card and an eBook set of Fat Assassins + Fat Bodyguards.
As part of the blog hop I am hosting an interview with Angela Fristoe, author of Songbird. Don't forget to enter both rafflecopter drawings and check out the other blogs participating in the hop!
What gave you the idea for the book? When I first began writing Songbird, I had absolutely no clue what I was going to write about. I literally sat down and started writing. Each day I did the exact same thing, never really knowing what was coming next. A lot of the events Dani experiences were inspired by things that happened to people I knew, although I always made sure that Dani’s were unique to her situation and her character.
Spill a secret, mystery or hidden thing in your book: One of the repeating lines in the book is ‘love you forever’ and this is a tribute to my Dad, who would say this all the time.
Where do you live? I currently live in Colorado, but have lived in Texas, Alberta, and Manitoba.
What is the one thing tourists must do? If you’re coming to Colorado you should definitely visit Garden of the Gods (which makes an appearance in Songbird), Pikes Peak, and the town of Telluride. Be prepared to do things outside, as Colorado is definitely made for enjoying nature.
What's your favorite restaurant and what type of food do they serve? I love Italian, so any Italian restaurant is my favorite, although I do require that they make a good pizza, which if you are in Colorado Springs is Louie’s Pizza!
What are you giving away on your blog? I am giving away a $5 Amazon Gift card!
Who is the author you are highlighting on your blog? Jeanne Bannon, author of Invisible

About Angela: I didn't always know that I wanted to be a writer. I grew up with the idea that my sister was the writer and I was the artist. When I finally decided to start writing, I lacked confidence and deleted pretty much everything I wrote immediately. After discovering an amazing online writer's workshop, I started writing in earnest. And thanks to the help from other writers I improved beyond what I ever imagined possible. Songbird is my first published novel through Little Prince Publishing, and I am now working on balancing my writing, marketing and life. I live with my husband and daughter in beautiful Colorado.
